Erin Dellasega
Bio and Statement:
Erin Dellasega is a painter, digital artist, and fashion designer working in Kansas. Dellasega received her BFA in Visual Art at the University of Kansas in 2020, MA in Studio Art at Eastern Illinois University in 2021, and MFA in Painting + Drawing at Ohio University in 2024.
Dellasega’s past work examines the relationship between memory, time, and sensory experience through painting and multidisciplinary practice. Drawing from personal archives, interior spaces, popular culture, fashion, and pop music, her work considers how images, places, and cultural references become intertwined with memory, identity, and our perception of time.
Her current oil paintings move more towards abstraction, still using floral imagery, color, repetition, and layered forms to explore the passage and perception of time. Informed more so by experiences of synesthesia, as well as the rhythms, repetition, and emotional associations of pop music, these works consider how color and form operate as sensory markers, creating visual relationships between sound, memory, time, emotion, and perception.
She currently teaches and assists with a range of art courses at Ohio University and Pittsburg State University, and works as an exhibition technician at the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art.
